LED 6 volt replacement bulbs
for antique automobiles and classic cars
Use for: tail / brake / running lights / backup light/
turn signal
What makes these LEDs the right choice for
your car?
1) These 6 Volt LED light bulbs are much brighter than
regular 6 Volt incandesant bulbs.
2) LED auto lamps have extremely low current
draw. Instead of 2 to 3 amps of current each – only milliamps drain on your
battery. Easier on your charging system, and may in fact keep your headlights
from going so dim when at idle!
3) Almost instant on – regular bulbs take more
time to turn on, as the filaments take time to heat up (LED brake lights "turn
on" in about 100 nanoseconds. Regular incandescent bulbs take about 200
milliseconds. That may not sound like much, but for a car coming up behind you
going 60 miles per hour, this gives about an extra 20 feet of stopping
distance! ).
4) No heat buildup. These 6 Volt LED bulbs are
only slightly warm to the touch.
5) Extremely long life – you may never have to
replace this LED light bulb again in your lifetime.
6) Not sensitive to vibration. New Old Stock 6
Volt original bulbs may have been on the shelf for 75 years, and have already
been subjected to rough handling, which may contribute to their quick burnout.
These 6 Volt LED antique and classic car lamps are brand new, with no filaments
to burn out, and are soldered electronic circuits.
7) Direct plug in replacement, fits right into
your existing socket. The base of these 6 Volt LED lights is the same as your
regular bulb. The length and width are approximately the same!
If your 6 Volt
old car is like my Studebaker, it has small, dull tail lights, which no one
behind you can see. Replace your old bulbs with these
These bulbs were designed and produced
for your 6 volt auto electrical system only. You may use them with 8 volt
battery, but DO NOT USE THEM WITH 12 VOLT SYSTEMS.
Follow these simple steps to insure these
bulbs will work in your car, and to find out exactly which ones to order.
1. Check the
polarity of your car. Look at the battery ground cable to see if the Positive
or Negative terminal is connected to your frame. These 6 volt LEDs are polarity
sensitive, and you must order these bulbs for the proper ground.

2. Check the
position of your existing bulb to the lens. The bulb must be pointing directly
towards the lens, like in the "OK" diagram. LED lamps produce very
directional light.

3. Take out
your existing bulbs. Look from the bottom (base), make sure the pins , and the terminals look like either diagram. These
double filament bulbs will automatically be on brightest when used in a single
filament socket.

4.
Look at your existing bulbs from the side, choose if they are Non Index Pins,
or Index Pins.

5. Look at
your tail light housing and lens. If your lens is small, no reflector and there
is no license lens, or the license lens has a separate bulb, then
choose the 19 LED. If your lens is large or has a reflector, or has a license
plate lens with no separate bulb, choose the 32 bulb. The 19 Individual LEDs bulb, has 19 LEDS that send light straight out. The 32
Individual LEDS bulb has 18 LEDS that send light straight out, and it has 14
"extra" individual bulbs that send light to the reflector or sides.
For a larger lens, the 32 would provide a more full appearance.
6. If you choose to use these 6 Volt LED bulbs to replace all 4 of your Turn signal bulbs, the old style flasher units will not turn the bulbs on and off. There is just not enough current flow to heat up the flasher unit. There are a few ways around this. You can pigtail a single incandesant bulb from each side of the circuit (for example in the trunk, under the dash, or in the tail light housing), or wire in a dropping resistor. As long as there is one of the old type bulbs in the circuit, these LEDs will flash. They will work just fine, with no alterations to your wiring, if they are used for either only front or only rear turn signal bulbs.
